1st Transnational Exchange Meeting “Let’s Go Circular!”

In the framework of the implementation of the European Program URBACT IV, in which the Development Organization participates by being present in two networks of cities, the first working meeting of the "Let's go circular!" network took place between September 25-27, 2023 in Munich, Germany. The meeting was organized by the Department of Labor and Economic Development and the Department of Climate and Environment Protection of the Municipality of Munich.

The Development Organization was represented by the General Manager and the Director of the Technical Service, who had the opportunity to meet with representatives of the cities participating in the said network. Specifically, the meeting was attended by representatives from the cities of Munich, Lisbon, Guimaraes, Granada, Oulu, Malmö, Riga, Cluj, Tirana as well as two members of the URBACT Secretariat.

During the three days, there was a presentation of the current situation and the strengths of each partner, as they were captured by the network's Lead Expert Ms. Feleki Eleni during her visits to each city in the previous period. The next steps for the proper implementation of the program and especially for the successful organization of the meetings of the local action groups, which are a key component of the success of the program, were discussed and agreed upon.
Also, the attendees had the opportunity to see up close typical examples of applications of the circular economy program implemented by the Municipality of Munich both in the daily life of the city and in large-scale cultural events and to visit newly established companies active in the field of circular economy.
